A Belgian court has ruled that cyclist Wout van Aert must pay 662,000 euros in compensation to Sniper Cycling after he broke his contract with their team in 2018.

The Court of Cassation upheld the decision, stating van Aert wrongfully terminated his employment, despite claiming "serious failings" within the team.

The case marks the conclusion of a long legal dispute, with Sniper Cycling originally seeking 1.1 million euros in damages.
