The World Snooker Tour has revealed plans for its inaugural TV event in Saudi Arabia, introducing a distinctive feature for players achieving a maximum break. Scheduled for March 4-6, the Riyadh Season World Masters of Snooker will feature top players like Ronnie O'Sullivan and Judd Trump.
The tournament will follow conventional rules but introduces a unique element—a 23rd "Riyadh Season ball" worth extra points when potted during a maximum break. The specifics of its presence on the table and potential penalties are yet to be disclosed.
The event marks a significant step for snooker into a new territory and aligns with Saudi Arabia's increasing involvement in various sports, including football, tennis, boxing, and golf.
