Borussia Dortmund were held to a 0-0 draw at Werder Bremen in their Bundesliga clash on Saturday, with a pivotal moment occurring when centre back Nico Schlotterbeck was sent off in the second half.
After a lackluster first half, Dortmund improved their performance, with Karim Adeyemi coming close to scoring from a long-range shot that Bremen goalkeeper Michael Zetterer saved.
Schlotterbeck received a second yellow card in the 73rd minute for a foul on Bremen's Justin Njinmah, reducing Dortmund to 10 men. Despite Dortmund's late efforts to break through, Bremen's defense held firm to secure a draw.
