NLO kicks off in Kano amidst fanfare

Former President of the Nigeria Football Association, now the Federation (NFA), Alhaji Ibrahim Galadima, has given credit to organizers of the Nationwide League One (NLO) for a near-perfect season kickoff.
ASN reports that Nigeria's third-tier amateur league, NLO, kicked off in Kano on Wednesday evening with a Kano Derby between Kano Pillars Jr. and arch-rival Kwankwasiyya FC at the Sani Abacha Stadium, which ended in a one-all draw to the delight of over 5,000 fans that caught a glimpse of the thriller and a star fixture of Match Day 1.
Galadima, the acting chairman of Kano Pillars, said after the game: "It's heartwarming that Kano hosted the NLO opening 2023 season fixture, which was between, and my presence at the game is my way of showing appreciation to the nation's third-tier league body for this honor."
