Kenyan marathon runner Brimin Kipkorir has been provisionally suspended after testing positive for banned substances, including EPO and Furosemide, in an out-of-competition test conducted on November 22, 2024.
The Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) announced the suspension on Monday, highlighting concerns over doping in Kenyan long-distance running, which has seen multiple high-profile cases in recent years.
Kipkorir, who set a course record at the 2024 Sydney Marathon and won the Frankfurt Marathon in 2022 and 2023, now faces potential sanctions pending further investigation.
