Jannik Sinner Accepts Three-Month Ban After Positive Doping Test

Posted : 15 February 2025

Jannik Sinner has accepted a three-month suspension from tennis after acknowledging that team errors led to his positive tests for traces of the banned substance clostebol in March last year.

The ban, running from February 9 to May 4, allows the world No. 1 to compete in the French Open, beginning May 25, and also the Rome Open, which takes place right after his suspension ends.

Sinner maintained that the substance entered his system unintentionally through a spray used by his physiotherapist and emphasized his commitment to upholding anti-doping regulations.
