Richard Gasquet, the former world No. 7, announced his retirement following the French Open next year, concluding a remarkable 22-year career.
The 38-year-old Frenchman, who reached the semifinals at Wimbledon twice and the US Open once, enjoyed his best performance at Roland Garros in 2016, where he reached the quarterfinals.
Gasquet, a 16-time ATP Tour title winner with his latest victory in Auckland last year, expressed that he feels this is the perfect moment and place to end his career, saying, "It's magnificent... it is obvious."
