Broady Questions Timing of Sinner’s Doping Ban, Suggests Favoritism Towards Top Players

Posted : 17 February 2025

Liam Broady has expressed his belief that Jannik Sinner's three-month doping ban has been timed to minimize its impact on the Italian's career, particularly with his suspension ending just before the Rome Masters and the French Open.

Sinner accepted the ban after reaching a settlement with the World Anti-Doping Agency over two positive drug tests, but Broady questioned whether the ruling would have been the same for lower-ranked players.

Despite Sinner being cleared of intentional wrongdoing, Broady feels the verdict shows favoritism towards top players on the tour.
