Super Eagles Striker Kayode Olarenwaju Seeks Divorce, Alleges Adultery and Child Abduction in High Court Battle

Posted : 09 July 2024

Super Eagles striker Kayode Olarenwaju has filed a petition with the Federal Capital Territory High Court seeking the dissolution of his marriage to Ezinne, citing irretrievable breakdown. Olarenwaju, who resides in Turkey, is also requesting custody of their children and seeking N1 billion in damages from UK-based pastor Tobi Adegboyega. He alleges emotional trauma, financial loss, and loss of goodwill due to Adegboyega's alleged affair with Ezinne.

The couple has been embroiled in a contentious legal battle marked by accusations of infidelity and other grievances. Ezinne, in a suit dated March 20, 2024, accused Olarenwaju of baselessly accusing her and her mother of infidelity and witchcraft, claiming he also damaged her phone during a confrontation.

In a counter-petition filed on July 1, 2024, Olarenwaju accused Ezinne of engaging in repeated acts of adultery with Pastor Adegboyega and other men since their marriage in 2013. He further alleged that Ezinne abducted their children on March 24, 2024, prompting intervention by the Department of State Services, who located and apprehended her in Abuja's Brains and Hammers Estate.

Olarenwaju also accused Ezinne of undermining their joint business ventures, alleging that she misappropriated rental proceeds from properties they co-owned with a former lover, Ugochukwu Igboanugo. He has petitioned the court for the dissolution of their marriage, custody of their children, and financial compensation from Pastor Adegboyega. The case is scheduled for hearing on September 24, 2024.
