On the anniversary of her daughter Adira River Williams' birth, Serena Williams shared new photos and details about the meaning of her daughter's name. Williams, who has 17.4 million followers on Instagram, posted a heartfelt tribute along with images from her pregnancy and family moments. She explained that "Adira" is a feminine version of the Hebrew word "Adir," found in the Bible, which means "powerful," "strong," and "magical."

 

In her post, Williams described her second daughter as a "real ray of light" and shared a glimpse into her life with Adira, her husband Alex Ohanian, and their family. The name Adira holds significance in various cultures, reflecting the strength and magic Williams sees in her daughter. Williams also took the opportunity to celebrate her eldest daughter, Olympia, acknowledging how her love has expanded with the arrival of Adira.

 

Williams received a flood of supportive comments, including one from actress Mindy Kaling, who praised the name Adira as befitting an icon.
