Sophia, the wife of Arsenal striker Kai Havertz, has shared disturbing screenshots of abusive messages she received on social media following Sunday's FA Cup defeat to Manchester United. The abuse, which included threats to their unborn child, was triggered by Havertz's missed opportunity to win the game in normal time and his penalty miss in the subsequent shootout, with Manchester United securing a 5-3 victory after a 1-1 draw.
 

Sophia posted the offensive messages on her Instagram story, expressing her shock and disappointment. Arsenal has condemned the abuse and reported the incidents to the police. The club is also working with a specialist data firm to track down the individuals responsible for the harmful messages, taking a firm stance against online harassment.
 

Kai and Sophia Havertz, who have been together since 2018 and married last year, announced in November that they are expecting a child. The couple has faced undue vitriol following the match, highlighting ongoing issues with online abuse directed at public figures and their families.
