2023 National Division 2 Volleyball League (2nd phase) hits Day 5

Ajase Ipo VC and Oluyole Spikers have won their respective matches on Day 5 of the ongoing 2023 National Division 2 Volleyball League (2nd phase) in Kaduna.
In a North central derby, Ajase Ipo surprisingly beat Olalomi Spikers 3-0 (25-18, 25-18, 25-23) while Oluyole Spikers defeated Safety Spikers 3-1 (25-15, 25-15, 20-25, 25-26) at the indoor sports hall of Ahmadu Bello Stadium.
Ajase Ipo ran riot on Olalomi Royal Spikers in the first set 25 to 18 causing panic amongst the Olalomi squad. Coach Taye Afelele maintained the starting six of his side Ajase Ipo as they comfortably beat Olalomi Royal Spiker in the second set by the same scoreline 25 to 18 points.
A worried Oluwabukola Faremi made some changes in the third set for Olalomi as they still struggled against Ajase Ipo. Both teams picked valuable points till they tied at 20 to 20 points before Ajase Ipo snatched victory by 25 to 23 points.
Meanwhile, youthful Oluyole Spikers were impressive in the first and second set recording 25 to 22 points apiece against Safety Spikers. Experienced Safety Spikers bounced back in the third set winning by 25 to 20 points.
Joel Taiwo with his thunderous spikes gave Oluyole the much needed win in the fourth set to seal the game.

Sword VC 3 v 1 Adamawa Spikers (25-15, 25-15, 20-25, 25-16)
Oluyole Spikers 3 v 1 Safety Spikers (25-22, 25-22, 20-25, 25-17).
Ajase Ipo 3 v 0 Olalomi (25-18, 25-18, 25-23)
Division 1
Nigeria Correctional Service 3 v 0 Kwara United (27-25, 25-17, 25-22)
