Wimbledon 2019 winner, Simona Halep is disappointed by the doping case, but the "process is ongoing"

Simona Halep, a former Wimbledon champion, says it is "really tough" to waste time as she waits for her doping case to be settled.
For the previous six months, the 31-year-old Romanian, who won Wimbledon in 2019, has been placed on a proviso suspension.
At the US Open in August, Halep tested positive for Roxadustat, though she insists she didn't know she was doing it.
The procedure is still under progress, according to the organization in charge of testing in tennis.
In addition, it stated that the World Anti-Doping Code was being operated in accordance with Halep's case.
Halep, who has won two Grand Slam tournaments including the French Open in 2018, asserts that she never contemplated cheating and that the "contaminated"
supplement was to blame for the failed test.
The anti-anaemia medication Roxadustat encourages the body to produce more red blood cells.
Halep expressed her frustration with the length of time it was taking for the issue to be concluded in her first interview since she was given a temporary suspension in October.
"I'm not asking for special treatment. I just ask to be judged. How much longer is this going to take?" she said.
She added: "At this age, it's really tough to lose days, weeks, and months. You are scared about the injuries. When you don't have official matches, it is more risky.
"When time passes like this, it is harder to come back."
The most well-known tennis player to test positive for drugs since Russian five-time major winner Maria Sharapova was suspended in 2016 is Halep, who was ranked ninth when the suspension was implemented.
