Wilander believes Murray will remain dangerous at Grand Slams if committed to training

Mats Wilander is optimistic about Andy Murray's future in professional tennis, believing that the former world No. 1 can still be a formidable player at Grand Slam events and has the potential to reach the top 10 once again.
Currently ranked 40th in the world, Murray has decided to continue playing for at least another year after securing victories in two grass court tournaments before his valiant performance at Wimbledon, where he narrowly lost to Stefanos Tsitsipas.
Wilander acknowledges that Murray's ranking has been impacted by fitness struggles, which have been exacerbated by age and the major hip surgery he underwent during his prime. However, the former coach believes that Murray's talent and experience are enough to elevate him in the rankings.
For Murray to maintain and improve his level of play, Wilander emphasizes the importance of committing to rigorous practice. He states that Murray's dedication to training will determine how far he can go in competitive tournaments.
While Wimbledon may have been disappointing for Murray, losing to Tsitsipas, who was ranked fifth at the time, Wilander still sees potential for the British player. He believes that Murray has the ability to return to the top 10 to 20 in the world rankings. In particular, Wilander highlights Murray's prowess in Grand Slam events, where he can be a dangerous opponent for any player.
While Murray may need to perform well in smaller tournaments to improve his ranking, Wilander emphasizes that the ranking is not the main concern for the Scottish player. Instead, it's about how Murray performs in the prestigious Grand Slam events, where he has the potential to cause significant upsets, as demonstrated in his match against Tsitsipas.
