World No. 1 Iga Swiatek has withdrawn from the Korea Open due to fatigue, as confirmed by tournament organizers on Friday. Swiatek, who recently won the French Open and earned a bronze medal at the Paris Olympics, had already cited fatigue as the reason for her withdrawal from the Canadian Open last month.
Defending champion Jessica Pegula and US Open finalist has also pulled out of the WTA 500 event in Seoul due to a rib injury. Additionally, former Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina, currently ranked No. 4 in the world, will miss the Korea Open because of a back injury.
Emma Navarro, who reached the US Open semifinals, has also withdrawn from the tournament due to a scheduling conflict. The Korea Open is set to take place from September 16-22.
