Katie Boulter and her boyfriend, Alex de Minaur, enjoyed a memorable day as both claimed grass-court tour titles on Sunday. Boulter successfully defended her Nottingham Open crown in front of a home crowd, defeating Karolina Pliskova 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 in the final. Meanwhile, De Minaur clinched the s'Hertogenbosch title with a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Sebastian Korda, marking a perfect day for the tennis couple.
After securing her third WTA tour title, Boulter humorously teased De Minaur for not making the trip from the Netherlands to Nottingham to support her after his own victory. Boulter jokingly remarked about having a conversation with him, stating, "I hope he's going to be listening to this because we've got some talking to do!"
This wasn't the first time both players won titles in the same week, adding to a successful period for British tennis as Jack Draper claimed his maiden title at the Stuttgart Open earlier that day. Boulter and Pliskova faced a long day of competition with semifinals also played on Sunday due to weather delays.
Boulter, reflecting on her tough journey, described the day as "brutal" but expressed her joy at winning the Nottingham title for the second consecutive year. Despite losing the first set lead, Boulter showed resilience, securing an early break in the second set and maintaining her momentum to claim victory over Pliskova in three sets. Earlier, she battled past Emma Raducanu in a semifinal that extended over three hours, highlighting her mental toughness after a challenging clay-court season.
