Nigerian table tennis star Aruna Quadri has acknowledged that the final match against Egyptian Omar Assar was challenging.
Despite being defeated by Assar 3-4 in the men's singles title final in Accra, Ghana on Thursday, Quadri admitted that the African Games presented tough competition. He expressed the team's determination to persevere and continue the fight.
Aruna praised the high level of the competition and recognized that success isn't always guaranteed.
"It's really hard, but of course, we keep fighting and fighting. It's not about winning all the time; it's about sportsmanship. This is why we are professionals; this is what we are made to do. It's always a very difficult match. It shows that the level of the competition is improving," he said.
