Stefanos Tsitsipas claims that Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal are the epitome of what a "GOAT" should be in advance of his participation in the Madrid Open.
Serena Williams, Novak Djokovic, Federer, and Rafael Nadal have all been included in the discussion on who should be referred to as tennis' GOAT (the greatest of all time) for the previous 10 years.
Prior to the French Open, Tsitsipas, who is competing in the Madrid Open this week, offered his own viewpoint on the topic.
"For me, the GOAT is not who has won the most tournaments or who has won the most Slams or who has won the most matches," Tsitsipas said.
"For me, the GOAT is the person who has brought the most people to the to the sport, who has attracted the most people to the sport, who has inspired lots of people to do something with their life.
"The person that has brought joy to other people through his craft and through what he does.
"I think, in this case, it's pretty clear that Roger Federer has had a huge impact on that, and so has Rafael Nadal."
Carlos Alcaraz defeated Tsitsipas in the Barcelona Open final last weekend, dropping him to an unexpected 0-10.
The 24-year-old Greek is 0-4 in their head-to-head meetings, and he acknowledged that Alcaraz is a "huge challenge" for him in tournaments when they both compete.
