The Korea Open quarterfinal between top-seeded Daria Kasatkina and former US Open champion Emma Raducanu was postponed due to heavy rain on Friday. The weather disrupted all scheduled play, forcing the match to be rescheduled for Saturday. Despite the delay, more rain is expected, potentially complicating the tournament's schedule.
Both the quarterfinals and semifinals are now set to take place on Saturday. In addition to Kasatkina and Raducanu's match, Brazil's No. 3 seed Beatriz Haddad Maia will face Russia's Polina Kudermetova. Meanwhile, Russian No. 4 seed Diana Shnaider is set to take on Ukraine's No. 5 seed Marta Kostyuk.
Another quarterfinal features Russia's Veronika Kudermetova, who will compete against Bulgaria's Viktoriya Tomova. With a lineup of competitive matches, the rain delay has added extra tension as players prepare to compete in back-to-back rounds.
The tournament has already faced a series of withdrawals, including world No. 1 Iga Swiatek, US Open finalist Jessica Pegula, and former Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina, making the event more open for other contenders.
