PaoliniKas, atkina Secure Semifinal Spots at Eastbourne, Brits Face Setbacks

In Eastbourne, Jasmine Paolini, fresh off her French Open final appearance, set up a semifinal clash with Daria Kasatkina after defeating Britain's Katie Boulter in straight sets. The Italian dominated the first set with two breaks, but faced a tougher challenge in the second, eventually securing victory with a decisive 7-0 tie-break.

 

Reflecting on her performance, Paolini acknowledged Boulter's strength on grass and expressed satisfaction with her own form on the Eastbourne courts. Meanwhile, Boulter, ranked 32nd globally and riding high from her Nottingham Open win, found herself unable to match Paolini's consistency.

 

In another quarterfinal match, Daria Kasatkina of Russia cruised to a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Britain's Emma Raducanu, who had recently claimed her first top-10 win. Kasatkina adapted well to the windy conditions, focusing on control and persistence to secure her place in the semifinals.

 

Elsewhere, Leylah Fernandez of Canada advanced to her first semifinal of the season by defeating Harriet Dart of Britain 6-2, 6-1. Fernandez's victory sets up a semifinal clash against defending champion Madison Keys, after Karolina Muchova withdrew due to a wrist injury, expressing regret to fans and focusing on recovery ahead of Wimbledon.
