Casper Ruud, the fifth seed and runner-up to Djokovic at this year's French Open, overcame American qualifier Emilio Nava. The match concluded with Ruud triumphing 7-6 (7-5), 3-6, 6-4, 7-6 (7-5) on Court 17.
 
Ninth seed Taylor Fritz, who has faced challenges at Grand Slams, emerged victorious against fellow American Steve Johnson with a resounding score of 6-2, 6-1, 6-2. Additionally, Frances Tiafoe, the 2022 semi-finalist, claimed a win on Arthur Ashe Stadium by defeating compatriot Learner Tien 6-2, 7-5, 6-1.
