Despite not playing her best, Ons Jabeur defeated Bernarda Pera 6-3, 6-1, and moved on to the French Open quarterfinals.
Only one player Jabeur held serve in the opening set as both players battled to establish any sort of domination.
The seventh seed easily won the second set 6-1 after overcoming a break in the first game to win the following six consecutive games. The first set had been much more difficult for her.
Next, she will compete against the victor of Beatriz Haddad Maia vs. Sara Sorribes Tormo. With the victory, Jabeur has advanced to the round of 16 in each of the four Grand Slams.
Jabeur broke Pera twice and quickly built a 3-0 lead by winning on her serve. For the Tunisian, who had already suffered three shattered bones, it was anything from simple.
At the end of a furious comeback, Jabeur extended her advantage after a spectacular smash cut the deficit to 4-2.
Jabeur won the opening set after 36 minutes after Pera fired a forehand wide to end the match at 6-3 after Pera had once more broken.
The second set of the match began with more service breaks as Pera prevailed on her third break point when Jabeur could only send the ball into the net.
