Miami Open 2023: Martina Trevisan Celebrates Career Milestone as Jessica Pegula and Elena Rybakina Reach Final Eight

A huge stride in her bid for Miami Open by overcoming Magda Linette in straight sets to reach the quarter-finals.
As she pursued the "Sunshine Double," Indian Wells champion Elena Rybakina defeated Elise Mertens to advance to the round of eight. For the first time in the WTA 1000, Martina Trevisan defeated Jelena Ostapenko.

On Monday, Martina Trevisan celebrated making it to the last eight of a WTA 1000 event for the first time in her career while Jessica Pegula and Elena Rybakina sailed into the Miami Open quarterfinals with straight-set victories.

With victories over Katherin Sebov and Danielle Collins in straight sets, third seed Pegula has been in excellent form at home. The American is aiming to win her first championship of the year with a victory against Magda Linette, 6-1, 7-5.

In their first-ever matchup, Pegula exploded out of the gate and quickly built a 5-0 lead over Linette before the Pole managed to score a break.
