Keenan Davidse continued his impressive form at the Betway Big Easy Tour event at Modderfontein Golf Club, carding a second-round 67 to surge to a tournament total of 10-under-par. This performance catapulted him into a three-shot lead heading into the final round, displacing overnight leader Yurav Premlal, who managed a one-under 71 for a total of seven-under. Despite a few bogeys on holes three, six, and 18, Davidse showcased steady play throughout the day.

 

The Stellenbosch Golf Club member's round was highlighted by eight birdies, underscoring his ability to compile a low score on a challenging course. Reflecting on his play, Davidse acknowledged his game felt rusty after a recent break but emphasized his enjoyment of the competition and the need to stay focused, taking each shot as it comes.

 

Premlal, despite his errors in the second round, remains a formidable contender. The Glendower Golf Club player, bemoaning early mistakes including a costly six on a par-five, is determined to rectify his game for the final stretch. With other strong contenders like Tyron Davidowitz, positioned at five-under-par, also in contention, the final round promises a tight competition.

 

Acknowledging the challenges ahead, Premlal identified areas for improvement and expressed confidence in his ability to bounce back. Behind him, a tightly packed leaderboard includes players like Andrew Williamson, Eric Wowor, and Vaughn van Deventer, all vying for a breakthrough in the closing stages of the tournament. As Davidse maintains his lead cautiously, aware of the lurking competition, the final round is poised to deliver gripping golf action at Modderfontein.
