Katie Boulter replaces Emma Raducanu in Surbiton Trophy semifinals

After her outstanding performance in the Surbiton Trophy semifinals, Katie Boulter has replaced Emma Raducanu as the top women's player in the United Kingdom.
When the 26-year-old Boulter participates in the Nottingham Open this week, she will formally occupy the top rank for the first time in her career.
Following her spectacular victory at the US Open in 2021, Raducanu rose to the position of British number one, but injuries have subsequently hampered her progress.
Boulter proudly announced her addition to the distinguished group of women who have previously held the illustrious post. She nonetheless continues to put in a lot of effort toward her main objective of raising her rating.
With three wins at Surbiton, Boulter has climbed to 126th in the world rankings, two places and 19 points ahead of Raducanu in the latest standings. Jodie Burrage (131), Katie Swan (134), and Harriet Dart (143) are all in close pursuit.
Raducanu, who recently underwent hand and ankle surgery, is expected to miss the summer season, including Wimbledon, which further solidifies Boulter's position as the British number one.
Boulter had a significant breakthrough at Wimbledon last year when she defeated former world number one and 2021 runner-up Karolina Pliskova, reaching the third round of a Grand Slam for the first time in her career.
Although a stress fracture in her back disrupted her progress and forced her out of the game for six months, Boulter achieved a career-high ranking of 82 in 2019.
