On Tuesday morning at the WTT Champions Macao 2024, Anton Kallberg stole the spotlight with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Quadri Aruna in the round of 32. Kallberg, who had previously won both of their prior encounters, began strongly by dominating the first game 11-4. However, Aruna quickly equalized by taking the second game 11-4, leading to a tense back-and-forth. Kallberg ultimately sealed the win with a decisive 11-2 in the final game, advancing to the last 16.
In another closely contested match, Simon Gauzy battled through all five games against Kirill Gerassimenko, eventually securing victory in their first international meeting. The match highlighted Gauzy's resilience as he edged out Gerassimenko 11-9 in the final game after splitting the first four.
Chen Xingtong showcased her impressive form in the Women’s Singles by extending her perfect record against Miu Hirano to six wins. Chen, the runner-up at WTT Champions Macao two years ago, began the 2024 event with a commanding 3-0 win over Hirano, taking the sets 11-5, 11-8, and 11-7.
