Jannik Sinner stuns top seed Carlos Alcaraz to reach China Open final against Daniil Medvedev

In a stunning upset at the China Open, top seed Carlos Alcaraz was defeated in straight sets by Jannik Sinner, who has secured his spot in the final against Daniil Medvedev.
 
Sinner displayed an impressive performance, winning 7-6 (7-4) 6-1 against the two-time major winner from Spain. This victory also marked Sinner's lead in their head-to-head encounters, with a record of 4-3.

Sinner utilized his potent groundstrokes to unsettle the 20-year-old Spanish player, clinching the first-set tie-break without ever falling behind and then showing resilience by saving five break points en route to dominating the second set.
 
Sinner acknowledged the challenging nature of his rivalry with Alcaraz, emphasizing mutual respect and fierce competition between them. He highlighted the importance of performing at their best and staying focused during their matches.
 
In retrospect, the first set was described as a "rollercoaster," but Sinner managed to maintain his mental composure, ultimately expressing his satisfaction with his overall performance.
