Jack Draper Advances to Vienna ATP Final with Straight-Sets Victory Over Lorenzo Musetti

Britain's Jack Draper secured his place in the Vienna ATP final by defeating Italy's Lorenzo Musetti in straight sets, achieving a solid 6-2, 6-4 victory that lasted one hour and 49 minutes. This win not only brings Draper to the final but also marks a significant milestone in his career, as he is set to rise to a personal best in the world rankings.

 

Following his match, the 22-year-old expressed his satisfaction with his performance, highlighting the quality of play in the first set. He acknowledged Musetti's toughness as a competitor, especially given the Italian's impressive season. Draper noted that the second set presented some challenges, with a mix of long rallies, nerves, and tough moments, but he remained proud of his resilience throughout the match.

 

As a semifinalist at the US Open just last month, Draper's recent success has propelled him three spots up the rankings, positioning him at a career-high 15th. He will now face either Australia’s Alex de Minaur or Russia's Karen Khachanov in the final, where he aims to secure his first ATP title.
