Emma Raducanu admits that there are occasions when she regrets winning the US Open

Emma Raducanu opened up about her struggles since winning the 2021 US Open, saying that at times she wishes she hadn't won the tournament due to the physical and mental challenges she has faced since then. The 20-year-old made history as the first qualifier to win a Grand Slam.
Raducanu has experienced several injuries since her triumph and is currently recovering from wrist and hand surgery. The Briton shared that she not only battled physical pain but also found the mental aspect of her journey extremely difficult. She admitted to attaching her self-worth to her achievements and would feel deeply affected by losses.
The tennis player has gone through coaching changes and split with her fifth coach in less than two years. In 2023, Raducanu has played only 10 WTA Tour matches, winning five of them, with her most notable successes at Indian Wells. Her ranking has fallen from 10th in July 2022 to 128th.
Raducanu expressed moments of doubt and acknowledged her setbacks since her US Open victory. She missed the French Open and will also be absent from Wimbledon due to minor operations. Despite her difficulties, she reflected on the joyous celebration after winning the US Open and the promise she made to herself during that time.
