Daniil Medvedev Wins His 16th Match in a Row Sets Match Against Alexander Zverev

Both Alexander Zverev and Daniil Medvedev advanced to the fourth round in Indian Wells with victory in three sets. While Zverev pulled through a difficult match with Emil Ruusuvuori, Medvedev prevailed against Ilya Ivashka. The current head-to-head standing between Medvedev and Zverev is 6-6.
In order to extend his winning streak to 16 matches, Daniil Medvedev defeated Ilya Ivashka. This victory set up a matchup with Alexander Zverev in the fourth round at Indian Wells.
Despite losing his 18-set winning streak, former world No. 1 Medvedev came back to defeat world No. 85 Ivashka 6-2 3-6 6-1.
Against world No. 59 Emil Ruusuvuori, Zverev also required three sets to win and move on, winning 7-5 1-6 7-5.
"I think our match could be a lot of rallies. Let's see. It's going to be interesting," said Medvedev.
"I feel like he's playing better and better, which is normal after a tough injury. He's someone who was one of the best players on tour, going kind of close to world No. 1, started playing better and better in Grand Slams.
"His injury was unfortunate but I'm sure he's going to come back. Hopefully next match I can be the winner and I can play some good tennis."
The head-to-head record is tied at 6-6 after 13 meetings between Medvedev and the German, and this will be the first match since Zverev tore his ankle ligaments in the 2016 French Open semifinals.
