Coco Gauff performs below expectation

Coco Gauff had a promising beginning in her third-round match against Ekaterina Alexandrova, taking a 4-1 lead.
 
However, the American tennis player faced a sudden turnaround as she lost the following two sets 6-0, 6-0. Gauff admitted to making numerous unnecessary mistakes and was self-critical of her performance.
 
She found some solace in recalling that her start to the grass season last year was also challenging.
 
"I made far too many unnecessary mistakes" Gauff said
 
On the other hand, Alexandrova expressed satisfaction despite not favoring grass as her preferred surface, noting that she still found success playing on it.
 
"Grass is not and will not be my favorite surface. But playing on grass still  suits me." Alexandrova noted.
