Coco Gauff Expresses Concerns Over Height Difference with LeBron James Ahead of Paris Olympics

Coco Gauff humorously expressed her concern on Thursday about the height difference between her and fellow Team USA flagbearer LeBron James for the upcoming Paris Olympics opening ceremony. Selected by their peers, Gauff and NBA superstar James will carry the flag during Friday's ceremony along the river Seine.

 

The 1.75m (5ft 9ins) tennis world No. 2 noted the significant height disparity with James, who stands at 2.06m (6ft 9ins). "I am a little bit concerned about the height difference," she admitted, adding that she initially thought there would be two flags but realized they would hold one together.

 

Gauff, who is often seen at basketball games, confessed she might be starstruck meeting James, a four-time NBA MVP. "No, I haven't met him yet, so I don't think I'll have the confidence to do that," Gauff responded when asked if she had plans to record a TikTok video with James, whom she idolizes.

 

Despite having seen James play numerous times, particularly during Miami Heat games, Gauff has yet to meet him in person. She expressed her excitement and nervousness about the opportunity to finally meet one of her sports heroes during the Olympic ceremony.
