Cameron Norrie loses, Stefanos Tsitsipas passes Sebastian Baez's test to go to round of 16

Stefanos Tsitsipas overcame Sebastian Baez in a hard-fought 7-5 3-6 6-3 victory to secure his place in the round of 16 at the Madrid Open.

The No. 4 seed in a close match at Manolo Santana Stadium won the final four games of a close first set, which he had trailed 3-4 at one point, to reclaim the lead.

However, the Argentine built a 3-0 lead in the second set before he tied it up and threatened to pull off an upset. This led to an exciting decider.

The Greek has a favorable draw, and if he wins the competition, he may go up as high as No. 3 in the ATP rankings.

But the 11th seed Cameron Norrie is one opponent he won't face.

The Chinese player Zhang Zhizhen just outperformed the British player, winning in a hard-fought match 2-6 7-6(2) 7-6(2) after needing two tie-breaks in the second and third sets.
