According to him, sports and education are his focal areas because the two sectors have the capacity to steer youth away from drugs, criminality, and other social vices that can destroy their lives.
He noted that, apart from the youth playing table tennis, the association has ensured that they have something to fall back on after retirement. Some athletes have been sent to Benson Idahosa University, with others recently enrolled at the Niger Delta University (NDU) in Amasoma.
Reflecting on the successes recorded at the just-concluded 3rd Gov. Diri National Wrestling Classics in Yenagoa, Ama-ebi noted that the idea to sponsor a team for the championship was to complement the efforts of the president of the Nigeria Wrestling Federation, Daniel Igali, who also doubles as the commissioner for sports in the state. He described wrestling as a traditional sport for the Ijaw people.
Ama-ebi, who also serves as the South-South zonal representative on the board of the Nigeria Table Tennis Federation, noted that his desire to support the wrestling federation stems from his passion for the development of sports. He emphasized that he would continue to invest in the development of sports.
The NTTF zonal representative appreciated the Nigeria Wrestling Federation for awarding him for his consistent and exemplary commitment to the development of wrestling and sports in Nigeria, expressing gratitude for the award and the show of love.
He thanked the sports duo of Senator Douye Diri and his deputy, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, for giving premium attention to the sports sector in the last five years of the prosperity administration.
The CEO of Ama-ebi Consultant also lauded the Commissioner for Sports Development, Daniel Igali, and the chairman of the Local Organizing Committee of the Classics, Ono Akpe, for translating the governor's vision into reality.
