During the qualifying finals of the Hamburg European Open, challenging weather conditions put the participants to the test.
The top-seeded Cristian Garin from Chile had an intense match, eventually securing his spot in the main draw, as did the German doubles team Marvin Möller and Marco Topo.
Unfortunately, Kathleen Kanev from Bad Homburg couldn't reach the main draw, falling to France's Elas Jacquemot (20) with a score of 5-7, 0-6.
Joining the main draw are the two top seeds of the qualifiers, Polina Kudermetova and Kaja Juvan, along with Turkey's Zeynep Sonmez, who will now face defending champion Bernard Pera from the USA.
In the men's event, top-seeded Chilean Cristian Garin battled his way into the main draw, defeating Belgium's Kimmer Coppejans 2-6, 6-3, 7-6 (5) in a match that lasted over two and a half hours, played on a deep and rainy court. Meanwhile, Elias Ymer from Sweden secured his spot in the main draw with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Slovakia's Jozef Kovalik.
There was a reason to celebrate for the German contingent in the doubles qualifiers, as Marvin Möller and Marco Topo emerged victorious against Boris Arias and Federico Zeballos from Bolivia with a score of 6-4, 6-7 (1), 10-6.
The match had to be paused on an outdoor court due to darkness, and the decisive match tie-break was played under the floodlights of the center court, where the German duo ultimately triumphed.
