ATP Hamburg Open Day 2: German players Jule Niemeier and Noma Noha Akugue reached the second round

Altmaier will face either second-seeded Andrey Rublev or Spaniard Bernabe Zapata-Miralles, who start the tournament on Wednesday. Tennis fans can expect 25 games on Tuesday, with Olympic champion Alexander Zverev's first appearance at his home tournament in four years.
Eva Lys will play against Mayar Sherif, while Maximilian Marterer and Rudi Molleker will face each other in a German duel. Yannick Hanfmann will face Argentinian Francisco Cerundolo.
German players Tamara Korpatsch, Jule Niemeier, and Noma Noha Akugue advanced to the second round of the Hamburg European Open in tennis.
Noma Noha Akugue had a special Monday, securing her first WTA level match victory and reaching the second round of a WTA tournament for the first time by defeating Laura Pigossi with a score of 7:5 and 6:4.
Akugue's victory was celebrated by her Hamburg fans, including tournament ambassador Andrea Petkovic and national coach Barbara Rittner.
Ella Seidel, Akugue's club mate and friend, put up a courageous performance but narrowly lost to Jule Niemeier in a match that ended 7:6 (7:5), 1:6, 6:3.
Daniel Altmaier from Kempen made it to the round of 24 in the ATP main draw, defeating French veteran Richard Gasquet in a late-night session with a score of 5-6, 4-23. It was Altmaier's first main draw victory in Hamburg. He will face either Andrey Rublev or Bernabe Zapata-Miralles in the next round.
On Tuesday, there will be a total of 25 games, with Olympic champion Alexander Zverev making his first appearance at his home tournament in four years. He will face Alex Molcan from Slovakia.
The day will begin with Eva Lys from Hamburg playing against Mayar Sherif from Egypt. Maximilian Marterer and Rudi Molleker will have a German duel on M1. The day will end with Yannick Hanfmann from Karlsruhe facing Francisco Cerundolo from Argentina.
