Annett Kaufmann Set to Shine at WTT Champions Frankfurt 2024

Annett Kaufmann, the promising 18-year-old German table tennis player, is set to compete in the WTT Champions Frankfurt 2024 after being awarded the Host Wildcard. This opportunity comes as Kaufmann aims to secure her first significant victory on home turf, following her impressive rise in the sport.

 

Kaufmann gained attention in 2023 when she clinched the Women's Singles title at the WTT Feeder Düsseldorf, marking her entry into the senior ranks. She reached a significant milestone during the WTT Contender Doha 2024, where she advanced to the quarterfinals, which included a notable victory over former World No. 18 Cheng I-Ching. Her success continued with a singles title at the WTT Youth Star Contender Tunis 2024, and she made her mark at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games as a crucial member of Team Germany, which reached the bronze medal playoff round.

 

Now preparing for her second appearance at the WTT Champions, having previously participated in Frankfurt 2023, Kaufmann expressed her excitement about returning to the arena. She fondly recalled the fantastic atmosphere and the support she received from fans last year and hopes to see even more spectators this time around. Currently ranked No. 103, Kaufmann has previously reached as high as World No. 45, and she is eager to leverage the local support to climb the rankings before the season concludes.
