Andy Murray skips the French Open in favour of Wimbledon

Andy Murray of the United Kingdom withdrew from the French Open in order to focus on the grass-court season leading up to Wimbledon.
Since 2017, Murray, 36, has only once competed at Roland Garros.
Despite winning the clay-court Challenger tournament in Aix-en-Provence in May, the three-time Grand Slam winner has had difficulty maintaining consistency on the court.
From May 28 to June 11, the French Open, the second Grand Slam of the year, is held.
Murray suffered defeat to longtime adversary Stan Wawrinka earlier this week in Bordeaux, and he also withdrew early from the ATP Tour tournaments in Rome, Madrid, and Monte Carlo.
Nevertheless, he triumphed over America's world No. 17 Tommy Paul in Aix-en-Provence after rallying from a set down to win his first clay-court championship since 2016 and his first singles trophy in four years.
Earlier in May, Murray told the Guardian that he was undecided about competing in Roland Garros, saying Tt's simply what the appropriate thing is to prioritize at this juncture of his career.
"I trust my body now but I'm aware that my best chance of having a deep run is more likely to happen at Wimbledon."
The Cinch Championships at Queen's Club, which run from June 19 to 25, will feature Murray as a participant.
The Surbiton Trophy, which runs from June 4–11, will mark the start of the British grass-court season.
Novak Djokovic defeated Murray in the French Open final of 2016, while Wawrinka ended his challenge in the semi-finals of the Paris Open the following year.
