After missing the French Open due to a hip injury, Rafael Nadal goes through keyhole surgery
Posted : 03 June 2023
Keyhole surgery was performed on Rafael Nadal's injured left hip, which prevented him from competing in the French Open.
The 36-year-old Spaniard hasn't competed since suffering the injury at the Australian Open in January. He intends to retire after the 2024 season.
The 14-time Roland Garros men's singles winner Nadal has been working out lately, but he wasn't ready to compete in a match.
On Saturday morning, the surgical outcomes will be made public.
Last month, when he announced he will skip the French Open for the first time in 19 years, Nadal also said he wanted to be in the greatest physical shape possible for his last season.
Along with Serbia's Novak Djokovic, Nadal holds the record for the most major victories by a man with 22 Grand Slam singles championships.
