Excitement in the air as 2023 Osogbo Outdoor Amateur Table Tennis Tournament Kicks-off in grand style

Table tennis enthusiasts expressed excitement on Thursday as the maiden 2023 Osogbo Outdoor Amateur Table Tennis Tournament kicked off at the Osogbo Township Stadium.

The week-long competition is designed to showcase the abundant skills of the youth and is also a strategic effort to engage them in sporting activities.

Designed as a free-age competition, the tournament aims to tap into the potential of both experienced players and talented youngsters who may later transition to become professional players in the indoor sports hall under the guidance of Coach Saka Suraj, the State Head Coach of table tennis.

The organizers stated that 12 players had registered for the league-style competition, where each match is a best-of-two games to 11 points.

The format ensures an intense and competitive environment, pushing players to give their best on the table.
