Viktor Hovland wins fourth PGA Tour title at Memorial Tournament

At the Memorial Tournament in Dublin, Ohio, Viktor Hovland of Norway won on the opening hole of a play-off to secure his fourth PGA Tour victory.
At Jack Nicklaus' Muirfield Village course, Hovland, 25, shot a two-under 70 to finish on seven under par and surpass clubhouse leader Scottie Scheffler.
Denny McCarthy concluded the day with a 70 and missed a par putt on the 72nd hole that would have given him his first PGA victory.
Hovland later prevented the American from reaching par on the first extra hole.
After a string of recent near-misses, Hovland scored from seven feet to celebrate his first victory since November 2021 after a weak drive by McCarthy caused another bogey.
"It's a little bit surreal," said Hovland
"Playing Jack's course and tournament and winning it, and for him to be able to see it is pretty awesome. He just shook my hand and gave me a couple words of encouragement.
"It feels even better after a few close calls the last few months."
