Valhalla Golf Club to Host 2028 Solheim Cup

Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky, has been selected to host the 2028 Solheim Cup, marking the first time the prestigious women's golf event will be held at this renowned venue. Known for its history of major tournaments, including four PGA Championships and the 2008 Ryder Cup, Valhalla will add the Solheim Cup to its illustrious roster.

 

 The course, designed by golf legend Jack Nicklaus, recently saw World No. 2 Xander Schauffele secure his first major title there in May.

 

The specific dates for the 2028 Solheim Cup are yet to be determined, but the tournament will showcase top female golfers from the United States and Europe in a highly anticipated clash. This biennial event highlights the competitive spirit and talent of the best players from both continents.

 

The upcoming editions of the Solheim Cup are scheduled for September 13-15, 2024, at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainesville, Virginia, and Bernardus Golf in Cromvoirt, Netherlands, in 2026.

 

Historically, the United States leads Europe with a record of 10 wins, 7 losses, and 1 tie in the Solheim Cup. This rivalry promises to add excitement to the 2028 event as Valhalla Golf Club prepares to host this prestigious tournament.
