Tom Kim demonstrates resilience at The Open with 68

Despite suffering a Grade 1 tear from slipping in his rental home's backyard the previous evening, Tom Kim showed incredible resilience at The Open by shooting an impressive 68 at Royal Liverpool. Despite his bruised foot, Kim managed to make four birdies on his front nine and only one bogey on the 11th hole.
The 21-year-old golfer, who recently achieved a T6 finish at the Genesis Scottish Open and a T8 finish at the U.S. Open, is currently ranked 24th in the world and 19th in the FedExCup standings.
Although Kim considered withdrawing from Friday's round due to the injury, he decided to push through after receiving some encouragement from his team. Despite the pain, he displayed exceptional performance, proving his determination on the course.
With even-par for the championship, Kim trails clubhouse leader Brian Harman by ten shots, but Harman's five-shot lead over the next-closest player, Tommy Fleetwood, gives Kim room to contend with a strong performance over the weekend.
As rain and wind are forecasted for the coming days, Kim's steady play and grit may prove advantageous. The golfer is likely to comfortably make the cut and, with the unpredictable weather, could potentially make a significant impact on the leaderboard.
Kim's performance serves as a reminder that injured players can still be formidable contenders in the world of golf.
