Golf legend Tiger Woods has unveiled his new clothing brand, "Sun Day Red" (SDR), in collaboration with TaylorMade, ahead of his comeback at the Genesis Invitational. The brand replaces Nike's TW Collection as Woods' official apparel line, marking the end of his 27-year partnership with Nike.
Named after Woods' iconic red polo shirt worn in final rounds, SDR will focus on innovative performance wear and luxury lifestyle fashion. The logo features an abstract tiger, breaking from the traditional placement on the chest and positioning it below the buttons of polo shirts. Sun Day Red is set to launch in North America on May 1.
In a press release, Woods expressed his excitement about sharing his apparel and footwear insights with the world, emphasizing the brand's dedication to putting the athlete first in product decisions.
Sun Day Red aims to embody a love for playing and competing, catering to individuals who share those values, both on and off the golf course. The 15-time major champion revealed that he has undisclosed secrets about adjusting apparel and footwear throughout his career to enhance his performance.
With the announcement of Sun Day Red, Tiger Woods embraces a transitional phase in his life, emphasizing that he is no longer a kid. Having dealt with plantar fasciitis and ankle surgery, the 48-year-old plans to make a gradual return to professional golf, intending to participate in one tournament per month in 2024.
Woods' comeback follows his last appearance at the PNC Championship in December, where he played alongside his son, Charlie Woods. Additionally, Woods introduces a new caddie, Lance Bennett, for his return to the Genesis Invitational, as Joe LaCava has taken on a full-time role with golfer Patrick Cantlay.
