Brian Harman showcased his mental fortitude and exceptional golfing skills to secure victory and claim the title of Champion Golfer of The Year for 2023. T

he left-hander from Savannah, Georgia, took the lead during the second round and never relinquished it, finishing with a comfortable six-stroke advantage at Royal Liverpool.
 
Throughout the tournament, Harman faced challenges, including early bogeys on Saturday and Sunday, changing weather conditions, and the pressure of being in contention. Admitting to having an active mind, he knew the importance of staying focused and not letting nerves affect his game.
 
Despite a remarkable Friday performance, doubts lingered about his ability to maintain consistency. However, Harman responded well to the pressure, regaining his rhythm and composure whenever tested.
 
On the penultimate day, Jon Rahm's impressive 63 lowered the Royal Liverpool record and closed in on Harman's lead. Yet, Harman stayed composed and answered back with crucial birdies to maintain his advantage.
 
The final day brought another challenge as Rory McIlroy and others made their move. Harman's response to early bogeys on the 2nd and 5th holes showcased his mental resilience, sinking crucial birdie putts on the 6th and 7th to reassert his dominance.
 
As Harman bogeyed the 13th, he quickly rebounded with a birdie on the 14th, solidifying his position at the top. His remarkable ability to bounce back from adversity kept the chasing pack at bay.
 
Although some players made impressive runs, such as Tom Kim, Sepp Straka, and Jason Day, they couldn't catch up to Harman's lead. Jon Rahm came closest, but missed opportunities proved costly.

In the end, Harman's steady performance and mental strength allowed him to secure the Claret Jug, leaving the rest of the field to admire his well-deserved victory.
