Team Delta has emerged victorious, qualifying for both the Men's Singles and Men's Doubles finals in the World Teqball Championship Qualifiers, tagged Abia 2024. Nigeria's top-ranked player, Victor Oyemade, and his partner Andrew Ikoko have proudly flown the Delta State flag high, showcasing their exceptional skills and determination.
Delta State player Victor Oyemade, on the journey to the final stage, stated that it was not an easy feat.
"It wasn't an easy achievement, but our determination, focus, and experience have brought us this far. I'm impressed with the challenges posed by my opponents, which indicates that Teqball is gaining popularity in Nigeria."
Oyemade expressed his team's target: "We aim to make Delta State proud and secure a spot in the World Championship in the United States of America."
The highly anticipated final is scheduled to take place at the Aba Sports Club, where Team Delta will face off against Team Oyo, comprising Nigeria's second-ranked player, Funsho Samson, and his partner Khalid Akorede. Samson had previously defeated Oyemade at the Ughelli Tournament, setting the stage for an exciting rematch.
