On the concluding day of German Masters qualifying at Ponds Forge in Sheffield, several snooker stalwarts secured their spots in the prestigious tournament. Tom Ford, Joe Perry, and David Gilbert emerged victorious, showcasing their prowess on the baize.
Ford, who reached the final last year, dominated with a flawless 5-0 triumph over Baipat Siripaporn, while Gilbert's impressive performance, marked by breaks of 78, 56, 104, and 90, secured his passage to the Tempodrom in Berlin.
The final day of qualifiers witnessed an intense battle between Tian Pengfei and 12-time women's world champion Reanne Evans.
Despite Evans taking an early lead, Tian displayed resilience, claiming the last three frames for a hard-fought 5-4 victory. His triumph earned him a spot in the last-64 stage of the German Masters, adding to the competitive lineup for the upcoming event in Berlin.
Noppon Saengkham, who reached the final of the Scottish Open last week, faced a setback in the qualifying round, succumbing to a 5-2 defeat against Ashley Carty. Carty's impressive breaks, including scores of 83, 58, 89, 51, and 70, ensured his qualification for the German Masters, marking the exit of Saengkham and Gary Wilson from the tournament.
Meanwhile, former Welsh Open champion Joe Perry secured a commanding 5-0 win over Ryan Thomerson, sealing his place in the prestigious competition next month.
