Following winning at The Players, Scottie Scheffler receives $4.5 million and dethrones Jon Rahm as the world's top golfer; Tyrrell Hatton comes in second after a stellar performance at TPC Sawgrass; and Viktor Hovland and Tom Hoge tie for third place.
With a commanding five-shot victory at The Players, Scottie Scheffler won his sixth PGA Tour championship in the past 13 months and reclaimed the top spot in the global rankings.
Scheffler entered the final round of the PGA Tour's marquee event with a two-shot lead and never lost it, shooting five straight birdies at the turn to edge away from the group of challengers.
The American, who only needed a top-five finish to retake the world No. 1 position from Jon Rahm, carded a final-round score of 69 to finish the tournament on 17 under par and win the $4.5 million top prize. Scheffler was far ahead of closest rival Tyrrell Hatton.
Hatton finished the tournament on 12 under par after a fantastic back-nine 29 that included five straight birdies. Ryder Cup teammate Viktor Hovland finished the week two strokes behind in a tie for third with Tom Hoge and in front of Hideki Matsuyama in fifth place.
