Rasmus Højgaard sets his sights on earning PGA TOUR card

Posted : 27 October 2023
Golfer Rasmus Højgaard is determined to secure a PGA TOUR card through the DP World Tour's season-long points list, with just three events remaining in the 2023 DP World Tour schedule.

Rasmus Højgaard is motivated by the opportunity to secure a PGA TOUR card through the DP World Tour's season-long points list, as he prepares for his first appearance at the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters at Doha Golf Club.

A strategic alliance between the two tours has opened a pathway for the top ten players, not already exempt on the Race to Dubai Rankings in partnership with Rolex, to earn PGA TOUR status. With just three events remaining on the 2023 DP World Tour schedule, Højgaard, a four-time DP World Tour winner, is currently three spots away from securing PGA TOUR membership for next year. His twin brother, Nicolai, a Ryder Cup winner, has already secured his card on the PGA TOUR, and Rasmus is eager to join him.

Højgaard is determined to focus on his golf performance and control what he can while keeping stress at bay. His main goal for the rest of the year is to perform well in the final three events and secure PGA TOUR membership. He has been showing good form lately, coming close to winning a second title this season and feeling confident about his game.

This week, Højgaard is participating in the Qatar Masters, and it's his first experience at Doha Golf Club. He has a positive outlook on the course and anticipates challenging conditions with roughs that require accuracy off the tee. He believes that shooting four rounds under par will be a commendable performance, especially if the wind picks up.

Jorge Campillo, another DP World Tour winner this season, also has strong incentives to finish the season on a high note. He's aiming for a top-30 finish on the Race to Dubai to secure a spot in The Open Championship next year.

Both golfers are focused on their performances and achieving their goals in these crucial events.
