Posted : 30 August 2024

Action resumes this weekend in the Nigeria Rugby Football Federation South West Rugby League, both male and female divisions, after a brief pause due to nationwide protests. Before the break, Racing RFC held the top spot in the men's group, while Gosar Ladies RFC led the women's group.

As the league kicks off again, Gosar RFC will face Ogun State Kings, and Nigeria Police RFC will aim to continue their resurgence against Cowrie RFC. Racing RFC seeks to maintain its lead at the top of the table as they take on Eco 11 RFC.

In the women's division, Eco 11 RFC will play against Nigeria Police Women's RFC, while league leaders Gosar Ladies RFC have a bye.

NRFF President, Ademola Are, praised the teams for their conduct so far and emphasized the importance of maintaining good behavior throughout the league, especially as they prepare for the national championship.

Heading into Matchday 3, Racing RFC tops the men's standings with ten points, closely followed by Cowrie RFC with nine points. In the women's category, Gosar Women RFC leads with six points, while Eco 11 RFC and Nigeria Police Women's RFC aim to improve their standings in the upcoming matches.
